Early Registration for 2009-10

Bring on the adventure

New to Scouting ... Not sure yet

You may not be sure if you are ready to enrol your youngster in Beavers, Cubs, Scouts or Venturers.

Want to find out if they will enjoy the experience? Then check us out ... that's right ... you and your child or teen can give us a test drive!

See 2nd Cole Harbour Group for an overview about our youth programs.

Why register early

Effective June 1st, 2009 we will be accepting early registrations for the 2009 - 2010 Scouting year. Why register early:

  • You get to save money ... by registering early, you pay the 2008-09 registration fee of $160 per youth or $370 per family (3 or more youth). Fees for 2009-10 are expected to increase. Registration fees for leaders and parent volunteers are covered by the Council.

  • You avoid the budget crunch in September when school fees and other fees typically need to be paid.

Early registrations are due in to our Group Registrar by August 15th, 2009.

Submitting an Application

It's really simple:

  • For  youth complete a Youth Application Form and submit it with a post-dated cheque (dated for Aug 15th, 2009) made out to 2nd Cole Harbour Group Committee for the registration fee and mail it or deliver it to the Group Registrar.

  • For  adult leaders complete the first two pages of the Adult Application for Membership and submit it to the Group Registrar. There are no registration fees for leaders.

  • For  parent volunteers complete the first two pages of the Adult Application for Membership and submit it to the Group Registrar. There are no registration fees for parent volunteers.

When filling out the application form, please indicate which youth Section (Beavers, Cubs, or Scouts) you are volunteering for and select "Other" and indicate "Parent Volunteer". Parent volunteers will become registered adult volunteers with Scouts Canada and will be insured for Scouting activities. All Parent Volunteers must be screened and approved in the same manner as Scout Leaders (includes a reference check of three personal references and a police records check).
